I have read the entries about the Savage running crappy when cold and not warming up quick. For being air-cooled the bike does run cool. On below freezing days it is a real hassle. After I get my temperature gauge installed I am going to make a windshield for the front of my engine. I hope this will allow the bike to run warmer on those cold days and protect from all that corrosive stuff. Of course I will remove the shield after those harsh winter months. Any simpler solutions?
Hey, J&P Cycles now puts out a free metric cruiser catalog. I know they have a large number of chrome pulley covers for Harley’s and I’m guessing something will be sold to fit the Savage. I’ll let you know when I get my catalog.
Does anyone know were I can get inexpensive Girder forks to make my bike into a chopper? I have found a company that makes them for $1800.00 but I don’t want to pay that kind of money. If anyone knows how to use regular springer forks without altering my bike’s frame please let me know. If worst comes to worst I will just buy the Seeger Cycle kit for $1500.00.
It will be about a week before I will get back to this site.
